Which details matter beyond diameter and lead?
Share the complete part code if present. If replacing a screw without a legible code, provide a dimensioned drawing of the screw, nut and both ends. We need to distinguish overall shaft length from usable travel, and identify whether the nut is flanged or round.
- Nominal diameter, lead, total shaft length and required travel.
- Nut code, flange dimensions, mounting orientation and preload requirement.
- Both journal-end drawings, including bearing seats, threads and coupling end.
- Existing fixed and supported end units, or their mounting drawings.
- Machine axis, load, speed and accuracy requirements where known.
End machining support can be discussed after the complete drawing is reviewed. Do not choose a screw only because its nominal diameter and lead match.
BK, BF, FK and FF support units
HIWIN lists fixed-end BK and FK units and supported-end BF and FF units. The support style and journal machining need to be specified together. A size label alone does not guarantee a compatible replacement.
