The quickest way to avoid an incorrect HIWIN linear guide replacement is to send the complete block marking and rail details together. The same size number can appear in different block styles, load classes and configurations.
HGH20CA, segment by segment
| Code segment | Meaning in the HG catalogue | Why a buyer should care |
|---|---|---|
| HG | HG linear guideway series | The series determines the matching guideway family. |
| H | Square-type block; W denotes a flange-type block | Block form affects the machine's mounting interface. |
| 20 | Model size 20 | Check the rail profile and published dimensions, not the number alone. |
| C | Heavy-load class; H denotes super-heavy load in this position | Load class can change block geometry and rating. |
| A | Block mounting from the top | Mounting orientation must fit the existing machine. |

What is missing from “HGH20CA”?
That block designation alone does not tell us the rail's finished length or hole layout, whether the assembly is supplied as a matched set, or the complete option suffixes. HIWIN's HG ordering information also distinguishes preload, precision, rail mounting and dust-protection choices.
- Rail details: photograph the rail marking and measure total length and mounting-hole positions.
- Block quantity and arrangement: tell us how many carriages run on each rail.
- Suffixes: copy every character after the basic block designation, including preload, accuracy and protection codes if present.
- Machine fit: include the machine model or drawing when a replacement must match existing mounting.
HIWIN also publishes an interchangeable block and rail ordering format. Do not assume a block from one order can be fitted to a rail from another order without checking the exact series and configuration.
HGH20CA versus HGW20CA
Both are HG-series size-20 heavy-load block designations, but HGH is square-type and HGW is flange-type. They are not the same mounting form. Compare the block drawing, height, width and bolt arrangement rather than substituting by size alone. Our HIWIN HG model table provides published HGH-CA dimensions to start that comparison.
